Just a girl trying to make it through.....

Okay, so I totally stole these pictures from my friends blog, but he was the only one with a camera this week! Dustin and Doc came down to visit our tour (okay, they came to visit me) and it was such a fantastic break from reality. I know being on tour can sometimes drag on a person, especially when you've been on tour for 7 months and still have another two or three left. Having people to visit or friends drop in makes all the difference. We hit all the sights in Easton, PA we could....the Super Walmart, Red Robin, JoAnn Fabrics and a Regal Cinema. I know how to show people a good time. Anyway, besides the run to New Jersey for some wine, it was all very fun and non stressful and truly just wonderful. Also, this picture is to prove to my mother that Dustin is a friend and not a stalker. Look! I do know him!

Food – okay. Thanks to my favorite….well, he’s just my favorite…. Gary, I take a ton of pictures of food when I’m overseas. I know its weird and food is food, but sometimes it really represents the country. So, here are a few of the dishes we had in Europe.

I don't know what order there going to come up as; but the pictures are of Hot Chocolate in Budapest, the breakfast they gave us on the overnight train going to Paris, my lunch in Vienna that has cranberry sauce on the side and dessert on our last night in Europe - in Paris.

Vienna – I’ve been to 48 States and a dozen or more countries and they’ve always been the same, I either liked it or I didn’t. I’ve never been more at home or comfortable than here in Vienna. It could have been that we came from Prague, and that while it was amazing, it was a little different – especially the train station.

We spent time taking a tour around the city – okay, I slept through it – but we took a tour and then visited the Hapsburg’s summer palace. That evening we walked around the ringstrauss and went to the opera. The next day was our trip to Budapest, so on Saturday I got up early to explore. It was really fantastic. I went to the imperial apartments, the Spanish Riding School where the Lipizzaner Stations are trained, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and took a tour of the opera house. I’m so glad I got a chance to just explore a little. I would absolutely go back!

Budapest – a day trip. We debated back and forth about going to Budapest or not. It seemed like a good idea at the time but as it got closer and the thought of not getting any rest whatsoever in the next few months lead us to knock it off the schedule. It was a good thing too because getting our luggage on and off the train was the biggest pain in the butt ever. It was so much easier when we didn’t have to change trains.

Anyway, as you may have guessed by now we did go to Budapest. We ended up taking a day trip there and saw some of the major sites. It was one of the most picturesque places we visited. But, in the end I was glad we didn’t try to stay there. Here is a picture or two….

Prague – is a very very long way from Holland. Due to our load out schedule we weren’t able to take the direct overnight train from Utrecht to Prague. So, at 7am the next morning we take all of our luggage (we’re not light travelers) and went on three (four if you count the one that broke down before we even moved) and 12 hours later and two more train changes we made it to Prague.

It was very picturesque and getting to see a country that was communist just a few decades ago was amazing. We stayed in the old town square area – the place to be. We went to the Communism Museum while we were there, it’s in the same building as a McDonalds and a casino. Here are a few pictures…..

Posting - yea, I'm not so good at it. But I will get better! I said that after I was done with one of the two tours and school was done that I would try harder. So, here I am trying harder. I have a few pictures from my recent European Adventure. We were in Holland for six weeks with work, but I only have pictures of other countries. Here is one of me in London when Chris and I went to there on days off. That evening we went to see Mary Poppins. It was FANTASTIC!
